Today’s Bike the Blossoms Ride in Vancouver was a great success, with an excellent turnout despite cloudy skies. The rain held off for just long enough for most riders to finish the relaxed ride around the blossom-lined lanes of Vancouver. Here is a very short video to give you an idea of what this ride feels like:
Bike the Blossoms in Vancouver was again organized by Velopalooza and the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival

The Bike the Blossoms Ride offers the opportunity to cycle along a well-marked route, enjoying Vancouver’s new cherry blossoms, in the company of many other relaxed and happy cyclists. This year, thanks to me not reading MY OWN blog properly (!), we were an hour early. Which turned out to be a good thing, because I got to meet many of the people who make this event happen every year in the spring.
First, I met Linda Poole, Executive Director of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. Linda personally started Bike the Blossoms 12 years ago, and has organized it in partnership with Velopalooza every year. What a great achievement! I am so grateful we have people like her, making wonderful events happen so we can enjoy the awesomeness of Vancouver even more.

Volunteers from HUB Cycling were also in attendance, and we took the opportunity to renew our family HUB membership. Did you know that being a member of HUB gets you discounts at 40 Metro Vancouver bike and gear shops, deals on car and bike sharing, and invites to great events throughout the year? You can join HUB Cycling here.
